The Best Gift a Man Missing his Grill Could ask for
The Best Gift for a Man missing his Grill, a Happy and Successful Solution to Condo living. My husband Randy and I live in a beautiful condo in Boca Raton, FL. Having a fairly large patio, we assumed it would be kosher to go and buy a brand spakin new gorgeous Copper Weber Grill. It was Randy’s Baby, his favorite toy (well second favorite, 1st is his Xbox one). Then the unthinkable happened, we were no longer allowed to have a grill on our patio anymore.
Randy’s Heart was Broken to shreds, and lets be serious, he was ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED!!
Of course, Not wanting to fight for it anymore, Randy Let it go…He sadly gave his Beautiful Copper Weber Grill, his prized possession, to a friend of ours.
Yes, we can use our condo’s grills, but they’re not nearly as convenient as sliding our own glass door open, walking right outside on to our patio, and cooking up some freshly caught fish, kabobs, veggies, you name it. Every cooking utensil, seasoning addition, lemon wedge, plate, napkin, you name it is right inside the condo. No additional doors to go through, no key fobs needed, etc. And he can leave it as messy and as filthy as he wanted to- ( until we were done eating). At our condo, the grills are at the pool, we are grateful for those grills, however, you have to be mindful of others that also want to use them. Just Imagine sharing your oven with your entire condominium. Not ideal, but you make it work.
Ever since getting our “grill rights” revoked (we didn’t have grill rights in the first place, lol, I just thought it sounded funny to add that… ), or after we were told the grill was not welcome at our condo, on our patio anymore, we rarely have parties anymore. Grilling is just so easy for my Husband. And it was such a pleasure having him actually want to participate and help with the cooking for our guests, he was so good at it, MASTER GRILLER, and he just loved doing it, unless it was hot outside, then he wasn’t so thrilled. I think he would take that back today though, and grill every day in the sweltering heat as long as he got his 2nd favorite toy back.
But then , a few months ago I was thinking about gifts to get for Randy, Since he pretty much has everything, I wanted to get something thoughtful, useful, worth the price (after all I just started my business, so I need to be financially conscious and not wasteful), and this year I was determined to find him gifts that he will want to keep, and not return ( like last year, lol). I’ve really been trying to listen alot more when people speak, and talk less, I love to talk, but listening to everyone has been my focus. So I thought to myself – what is an issue that Randy often talks about, that can be solved by a gift? I put myself in Randy’s shoes, hmmm… what would I want? Then I thought about it- Ah, HA ! An INDOOR GRILL!!!!! Searching online for condo favorable grills, I typed in electric grills or indoor grills, and like magic- This nifty little Philips Smokeless Indoor Grill appeared out of thin air, at Williams-Sonoma.
I wrote it down in my “notes” on my phone. a few weeks ago, I went back online, searched for it again, and it was on sale at the time! I bought it right away! When it arrived, I quickly wrapped the big box with the penguin wrapping paper we got from Costco, and tied Hanukkah color bows with sparkles all over it, just in case someone tried to peek, the sparkly evidence would get on the culprits hands. Hehe… I really didn’t add the sparkly ribbon for that reason. It was really pretty ribbon from Michael’s, mesh, with cobalt blue Stars of David. Then I put the beautiful wrapped gift under the tree. Yes we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas.
Fast forward to the first night of Hanukkah, I gave Randy his gift. He was shocked, how could this little thing work like a real grill? He could not wait to try it out. So the following day he drove to the grocery store and picked up wild swordfish from Fresh Market, fresh lemon, etc. He rarely VOLUNTEERS to go to the grocery store, that’s my job. Super excited to cook, he read the easy directions, ( I added olive oil, lemon juice, and seasoning to the fish), he put it on the grill, watched it, flipped it, and took full responsibility- the grill was on, glowed a florescent vibrant reddish-orange , no flame, no smoke, fast, and the results were INCREDIBLE. The fish had a perfect “char” but was moist, soft, buttery ( with out the butter) , unbelievably delicious. Better then the regular grill!!!
I highly recommend this grill to anyone living in a condo, who wants to cook with out the bugs attacking them, or if its winter, and you don’t feel like going outside in the cold, snow, rain , etc. This grill on second thought, is perfect for anyone with available storage space. ( I have yet to make room for it, I could just put in one of the closets, it will totally fit!).
If you want this awesome apparatus, I added it to the Amazon link below! along with some other items that can be useful for a grilling feast! Have an Awesome day everyone!!! After all, this is the best gift for a man missing his grill! Happy Grilling!
